This awesome Goldtop is a 1996 Gibson Custom Shop ’57 Reissue, which was sent to and aged by Tom Murphy in 2006. This guitar was owned by Jay Jay French of legendary New York band Twisted Sister. Throughout his career, Jay Jay has collected a wide variety of guitars and gear, and we’re helping him clear some space. Within the photo gallery, you’ll find a picture of Jay Jay holding this very guitar.
The guitar looks like it had seen a bit of play time from Jay Jay: there are some definite dings around the body and neck that would be from performing and not from Tom’s wearing techniques. There are changed tuners, and the case is worn down but all latches close as they should. The guitar comes with two letters that are both from Tom Murphy: one stating that Gibson approved of his aging the guitar after the fact that it has been sold as an un-aged guitar from the factory, and the second to Jay Jay stating that Tom hopes he enjoys the guitar. A collectible instrument, and a quite nice Les Paul at that, too!
