This is a rare one up for sale from the private collection of The Music Zoo. It’s a Gibson Custom Shop Micro Kessel built in 2012 for a run that never came to fruition, of a guitar that was a smaller sized and chambered solidbody shape of a classic Barney Kessel model. This guitar is Prototype #2 as it is signed in silver sharpie on the back of the headstock. The guitar is a ‘New Old Stock’ instrument that has been unavailable for sale, until now!
The Micro Kessel has a figured maple top on a chambered mahogany body, nickel covered Burstbucker pickups, and trapezoid inlays with classy cream binding. It’s in overall excellent condition and includes the original case and Gibson final checklist paperwork (no certificate of authenticity).
